Statistical and Mathematical Software  

This guide provides information for the Victoria University research students and staff. The guide includes a brief introduction about each software package, where to access statistical software on/off campus, how to get support, available training opportunities, links to support materials and further readings.

The VU Information Technology Services (ITS) installs software onto VU computers and manages all relevent software licenses for software on behalf of VU.

VU Research Design and Statistical Support (RDSS)

Victoria University has a new research design and statistical support service to meet growing demand from staff and research students. 

The service will provide one-on-one consulting and workshops for research students and their supervisors, and academic staff in all areas of the university. 

It will help link students and staff to local area experts within the university and, if necessary, outside the university.

Postgraduate students who have more than two thirds research component in their degree may apply for up to five hours of free assistance in their first year of candidature and up to five hours of free assistance in their remaining candidature. Staff can apply for up to five hours of free assistance each year.

Students are required to get the consent of their supervisors and are encouraged to bring them to the meetings.

Students or staff who wish to use the research design and statistical support service are asked to complete the application form below, and give it to the consultant before the first meeting.
