Road transport is the predominant mode for moving freight around Australia. It is a vital link in the increasingly complex logistics chains that take freight to ports and terminals and distribute urban freight between warehouses and retail outlets.
Information technology and customer demand are driving a more integrated approach to logistics management, with widespread use of real-time freight tracking through electronic monitoring and messaging systems installed in transport vehicles.
Improvements in efficiency, productivity and safety in the road transport sector are imperative if the Transport and Logistics Industry is to meet the increasing freight task.
Skills Recognition & Credit Transfer
Skills Recognition is availabe for each qualification and is a process where your existing skills obtained through work, education and everyday life experiences are formally recognised.
If you have worked for a period of time and feel confident that you can do a particular job, but don't have a formal qualification, then Skills Recognition will benefit you by:
- Reducing unnecessary training and assessment tasks for what you already know and do.
- Reducing the cost and time it takes to complete or achieve a qualification.
- Enabling advancement to a higher level qualification if desired.
Credit Transfer is availabe for each qualification and is an administrative process whereby we recognise unit/s of study gained through accredited or formal training previously or at another training organisation. The units must be identical or equivalent to those in the course you enrol in.
Our Logistics courses are delivered at the Footscray Nicholson campus and Industry:
