          Program Structure

The delivery model for this course employs a blended/flip classroom methodology. Learning and reinforcement of skills occurs through a range of delivery methods which accommodate the learning styles of a diverse student cohort and which fit with their lifestyles.

Online modules provide the content and learning material which is essential to the course. Students are able to access this material at a time which is suitable to them and to revisit the material and review areas which require further reinforcement. At all stages of their online learning, students can access support from an Aged Care Teacher via eLearning resources, discussion boards, email, telephone and text messages. Responses to student enquiries are always made within 24 to 48 hours. As the materials and support are available at all times, students who require additional time to complete the learning material or additional support from a teacher are able to access it.

4 hour long weekly workshops delivered in face-to-face mode are attended by all students. Students move through the material efficiently and at a pace which matches their rate of learning. Students requiring specialist LLN support can access this via LLN specialists on campus and through the twice weekly drop-in-sessions offered at Footscray and Werribee campuses.
