Program Quick Guide
Take the next step in your career as a beauty therapist.
This qualification has been designed for those wishing to manage their own beauty salon and employ staff.
The course covers basic and advanced beauty therapy techniques along with business and management skills including:
- facial treatments
- lash and brow treatments
- manicure and pedicare
- body massage
- body treatments
- spa treatments
- electrolysis treatments
- advice on and selling of retail skin care and cosmetic products
Successful graduates of the Diploma of Beauty Therapy are required to complete a total of twenty-five (25) units, consisting of:
- Thirteen (13) Core Units, and;
- Twelve (12) Elective Units, consisting of:
All units from Group A, B or C:
- Group A - Electrolysis/Diathermy;
- Group B - Relaxation Therapy;
- Group C - Spa Treatments.
The remaining units from Group D - General Electives, may be completed from elsewhere in the SHB Training Package, or any other current training package or accredited course.

Workplace Health & Safety
Your health and wellbeing during your study with Victoria Polytechnic is of the highest importance to us. It is important that you are aware of health and safety when you are attending workshops or practical labs at Victoria Polytechnic and in the workplace. Victoria Polytechnic requires students in this course to complete an course induction including Health and Safety and you are required to adhere to the Victoria University Health and Safety policy and procedures whilst on any Victoria University or Polytechnic campus.
