Program Overview

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a wide range of general information and communications technology (ICT) technologies and to support small to medium enterprises (SMEs) that require broader rather than more specialised ICT support.

Persons working at this level apply a wide range of knowledge and skills in basic networking, ICT support, database development, programming and web development support; working safely and ethically in a sustainable work environment.

There are no formal pre-requisites or requirements for entry into this course, however we do suggest you have a keen interest in IT.

        Program Quick Guide

        This course is delivered flexibly.  The majority of the theory for each unit is delivered via a range on on-line learning activities that must be completed prior to attending course workshops in which you will apply the theory learnt and practice your skills and technique.

        The course can be completed at your own pace.  If you wish to accelerate progress the minimum completion timeframe would be approximately 6 months, the average duration is 12 months, however you can take up to 18 months to complete the program.  Speed of completion will depend on your current level of experience and your ability to complete training and assessment activities in the workplace. 

        The course has rolling enrolments, meaning you can join the course at any time, this may effect the order of which unit is commenced first however the order will not change.

          To complete the qualification you must successfully complete a total of 20 units (5 core and 15 electives) delivered in 8 study block themes.
