This webpage contains lists of SCImago Q1 and Q2 ranked journals for the FoR (Field of Research) codes relevant to the College of Business Research output.
The FoR codes have been grouped under areas that relate to the College.
These lists have been prepared to provide researchers with the top ranked journals available in their fields and related fields of research so that they may better 'target' their research outputs.

The journal lists change when the HERDC list is published (latest is 2015) and the individual journals rankings change each year. Always check SCImago before you publish.

Please note that these lists are designed as a guide and we strongly recommend that you check the SCImago website and the MORA policy before making a decision about where to publish. SCImago updates their quartile rankings on an annual basis and some journal titles may have more than one ranking depending on how many subject categories are allocated to that title.

When the Library compiled the discipline specific lists (based on FoR codes) we did so on the assumption that there is no correlation between the 2015 FoR codes and SCImago subject categories. This means when a journal has different rankings in different subject categories we always select the higher ranking.

I have included the top two quartiles, if you would like the complete list of ALL journals in ALL disciplines, please email

The Scholarly Communication & Publication Project

The aim of this project is to assist in improving the quality of research publication across the University and to raise awareness about the changing scholarly communication publication landscape.

Working with the Office of Research, College Librarians use their expertise to assist academics by providing guidance about where to publish.   By working collaboratively with the academic and reseach community the Library is developing awareness amongst the University to the changing scholarly communication environment including Open Access publishing. College Librarians are doing this by identifying appropriate publications which will assist academics to easily find best publications to target research outputs.

The results of this project will be:

  • Compilation and validation of discipline-specific lists of quality  titles based on the most recent HERDC Lists and SCImago rankings relevant to College of Business. Identification of relevant high quality Open Access Journals can also be of benefit.
  • Analysis of where the College currently publish which will map these journals to SCImago quartile rankings and HERDC FoR codes.

I would like to thank the Library Research team- Cameron Barrie, Jessica Cork and Vien Nguyen for their work with the data and for their Research support.
